Ashlie Lancaster is a native of Spartanburg, South Carolina. She is a graduate of USC-Spartanburg with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. In 1994, she moved to Columbia to enter the Masters Program at the University of South Carolina where she received her Master of Arts in political science in 1998. She has two children — Carter, age 7, and Emily, age 15.
Ashlie worked for the Governor’s Office under Governor Beasley as a staff writer. She remained through Governor Hodges’ administration in charge of proclamations and shortly thereafter became Constituent Services Coordinator of both the Ombudsman office and the Children’s Case Resolution System.
She is a 2002 graduate of the Governor’s EXCEL Leadership Program. In 2005, she was appointed by Governor Sanford as Director of the Office of Economic Opportunity and the State Office of Victim Assistance. Following her service to the Governor’s Office, Ashlie recently joined the Energy Office at the State Budget and Control Board.
