Ashlie Lancaster

Ashlie Lancaster is Director of the South Carolina Energy Office at the Budget and Control Board, which administers the State Energy Program and serves as the principal energy planning entity for the state.  A native of Spartanburg, Ashlie came to Columbia in 1994 to attend the University of South Carolina where she received a Masters degree in political science.

Ashlie worked for the Governor’s Office under Governor Beasley as a staff writer. She remained through Governor Hodges’ administration in charge of proclamations and shortly thereafter became Constituent Services Coordinator of both the Ombudsman office and the Children’s Case Resolution System.  She is a 2002 graduate of the Governor’s EXCEL Leadership Program.  In 2005, she was appointed by Governor Sanford as Director of the Office of Economic Opportunity and the State Office of Victim Assistance.  In acknowledgement of her contributions, she received a 2009 Recognition Award from the South Carolina Community Action Network and the 2010 Golden Advocate Award from the Solicitors’ Victim Advocates Forum.  Following her service to the Governor’s Office, Ashlie joined the Energy Office at the State Budget and Control Board in 2009 and took on additional responsibility for the Office of Local Government in the Spring of 2011.

As Director of the South Carolina Energy Office, Ashlie has dedicated herself to the exceptional delivery of energy services and the creation of innovative policy frameworks for advancing energy efficiency and renewable energy.  Under her leadership, the office has met and exceeded DOE Recovery Act goals, while working to expand efforts in the areas of public-private partnerships for clean energy and alternative transportation.
